NROC registration

Required

Sport Singapore's National Registry of Coaches. We verify every coach on CoachSG before listing.

Standard First Aid + CPR/AED

Required

Renewed within the last 2 years. Red Cross or St John Singapore is standard.

SLSS Bronze Medallion

Required

Singapore Life Saving Society Bronze Medallion or higher.

SwimSafer Instructor

Required to deliver or assess SwimSafer Stages 1–6. Strongly preferred if kids/SwimSafer is your bread and butter.

STA / AUSTSWIM / NSA

Additional international or competitive-pathway certs are an advantage but never substitutes for NROC.

Public liability insurance

$1M–$2M cover preferred for condo work. If you don't carry yours yet, we'll point you at affordable options.

Coach FAQs

The honest stuff.

How much do I earn per lesson?
Private 1-to-1 is $60–$120 per lesson depending on your experience and the slot. Semi-private (2–3 swimmers) is $50 per head, and small groups (4–6) are $40 per head. Our commission is published when you join, with no surprise rates.
Do I keep my existing students?
Yes. There's no exclusivity clause. Coach with your existing schools or private students alongside Swim Select bookings.
Is there a female-coach surcharge I receive?
No, and there's no surcharge we charge parents either. The rate is the same regardless of coach gender. We don't price the supply gap.
How do I get paid?
Bank transfer twice a month, against a transparent statement of lessons delivered. We don't withhold for "platform fees" or other hidden lines.
What if I'm not NROC-registered yet?
NROC is a hard requirement to teach at any ActiveSG pool, so we need that first. If you've cleared SG-Coach and Basic Sport Science but the NROC application is pending, message us and we'll keep your application open.
What about MCST paperwork for condo lessons?
We handle the templates and walk you through the first approval. After that you'll have the pack you need for any future MCST.
